hired van tour for four people, week long One day tour of MacColl Land, Appin, as a step on guide

Hired van tour for four people, week long;     One day tour as a step on guide.

Through my intimate knowledge of both Clan history, Tale and highland life, past and present, you'll get much more from your trip than guide-books can furnish, and you'll come away understanding Scotland and your ancestors better than before.

A customized day tour might involve:

Carnasserie Castle, of Bishop Carswell, Argyll.~ From your local accomodation, travelling to an area of interest to you, all the while hearing Tales, history and having questions answered with Gàidhlig Highland knowledge, charm and humour.

Stewart Land, Appin, resting atop a hill ~ As you walk the ancestral land that your people were born on, farmed, fought on, where they had their homes, you'll hear what they wore, thought and felt; how their crafts gave them survival. You'll benefit from the detailed information that only your ancestral area can supply.

Folk Village, Ireland. ~ You might take a lunch of Highland fayre in a local hostelry. The afternoon might be spent similarly in another area of interest, or perhaps you'll see the West Coast as your ancestors often did - from the sea on board a small boat.

~ The evening might then involve an atmospheric storytelling Cèilidh of some of the great works of the Celtic tradition so fundamental to the Celtic way of life, or perhaps the evening might take in a folk music session in a pub or a highland dance. Ceilidh with musicians in Biggar, Bailie land

"The story of the Appin Murders has been the best piece of Scottish history of my journey"
Richard Harrex, New Zealand.
